Permanent blindness or fixable?

You remember my name the kitten post about my one eyed kitten. When you look at her, you can see her eye is there, but this whiteness is infront of it. I don't really know how to explain it but you can see in this pic, the green of her eye in the top left corner. I just want to get in there and pull out the white! Do you think anything can be done about that? Or what is it?

To me, that looks like her 3rd eye-lid is closing up over her eye [the eye lid is white/pinkish]since the eye is useless[1 eyed] - I believe, It's the eye's way of protecting the pupil from more damage or infection...

But if you feel udderly worried, then best to have her eye examed by a vet.

To me it doesnt look severe - just give it a few days and see if the eye doesnt get sored up and gets mucky with mucous...

Yes, that is the third eyelid that dogs and cats have to help protect the eye. Usually appears if there is an infection, or something stuck in the eye. To be safe, I'd recommend taking kitty to a vet to get the eye checked out.

did some research....it could be horner's syndrome or haw's syndrome, in which case it apparently goes away after awhile. I could have a normal kitty after all!

That is absolutely the third eyelid. It would not be covering the eye like that unless there is a problem. Sorry, but waiting to see if it gets worse is a really bad idea. This is the type of situation that has a VERY high probability of being easy if you take care of it now, and waaaay bad if you don't!!

What she said, and said quite well. My cats would be taking a trip to the vet. I don't mess around with eye issues on any animal. Saved my cat's sight that way because I caught it in time, but didn't do so with myself haha, and trust me, being blind in one eye isn't so cool. I spook way more than either of my horses now!

Seriously, though. Vet visit is completely appropriate in this case.

Yep, I'm looking at a corneal transplant in the next 10 years. Nothing to mess with.

That is what caused one of my rescue cats to be blind. What did the Vet say? How is kitty doing now?

Has the 3rd eyelid been like that since she had her eyes opened as a 2 week old?

thats the third eye lid if you watch a cat when its relaxing and its eyes are starting to close you can usually see it slid across. Sometimes it will correct itself other times it needs medical attention to be corrected.
I would recommend taking the little guy to the vets and finding out how serious it is and why its doing it and getting it fixed before it worsens.
