Please Pray for Fluffy & Kitty

My Sweet Sweet Fluffy, ran out on the street and got hit on Saturday Morning, Please say a prayer that her presious (sp) soul can find its way safely to the rainbow bridge.

I had picked up Kitty and his sister last summer from a farm up the road that was giving kittens away, Well his sister (trouble) was, (we assume) taken away from us way too young by a coyote. (I now lock them up in the barn at night.)

So poor kitty was soooo lonley, I picked up Fluffy from another barn up the road, and she was still young also, so it took some time, but they soon became best of buds.

I myself was against getting anymore cats, because i get so darned attached, but poor kitty is lost. Yesterday, he just hung out in the pasture with the horses, I guess he feels that those are his only friends

The farm up the road has a sign up again, free kittens, but i am not sure if Kitty will accept another cat in his life, as he is about a year old now, He is no longer a kitten. There has been a stray cat that comes by and visits, sometimes he gets locked in the barn at night when i close up the doors but Kitty doesnt really like him, (he just tollerates him)
In your opinions, should i try another kitten? or just let kitty buddy up with this stray?

I just felt so sorry for him yesterday, he used to follow fluffy everywhere. He kept running around the house as if he was looking for her, and then went to the pasture and went to sleep by the water trough with the horses.

Anyway it was a VERY SAD Weekend. So in the end poor Kitty lost 2 sisters in less than 1 year.

Kitty is the black & white and Fluffy is the Gray & white

I am so sorry to hear about Fluffy...I am most certain she is playing happily in cat nip fields, Over the Rainbow Bridge.

I am sure Kitty would love a new companion...it may take a day or two for some settling in but the companionship I am sure will be appreciated.

I'm sorry about Fluffy! The outside world is such a dangerous place.
I agree with getting him a kitten to play with. One year isn't that old! Playing would perk him up!

Your baby girl is happy at the Rainbow Bridge, I promise. And yes, when the time is right, Fluffy will send another kitty to occupy her space.

I am so sorry for your loss...

Best-

I am so sorry about Fluffy.

Give it some time, cats seem to have a way of coming into our lives.
I never had to go looking for a cat, they seem to find me.
Give Kitty lots of hugs and attention.

Sorry that Fluffy was killed by a car and sad for Kitty and your loss.

Years ago, I had two orange and white sibling cats, Mickie and Missy. They were together constantly. One day, Mickie was hit and killed by a car. Missy searched the house calling for him for days. About a month later, I got another boy kitty, Mittens (he had seven toes), and he and Missy became great friends.

Well thank you all so much for your well wishes.

I will give it a little time, There has been a stray that comes in the barn and eats and sometimes gets locked in there at night, As a matter of fact the first night kitty was alone, He happened to get locked in the barn, Usually Kitty yells at him and makes him go hide in the wall, but when i came out in the morining, The stray was sitting on the tack box staring out the window, and Kitty was sleeping on the tractor, So maybe We will just adopt The stray,( or maybe he has already adopted us) I have been calling him Tom caat all along, So I think i will call him Tom Tom - or Tommy,

Maybe he will start to come around and trust us humans after some time.

Isn't it amazing how just what we need can just show up!
Adopting the stray would be very kind, and may be the work of God. He does have a way of knowing what we need, whether we know it or not!!
I would recommend finding a way to him to your vet as soon as possible. Make sure he isn't exposing Kitty to an illness, worms or anything.
Then you could get the vaccinations and neutering done. If he/she isn't fixed you run a far greater chance of fighting, unwanted visitors, wandering, etc.

Yes that is such a hard thing, This poor guy probably never even had a kind hand touch him. He is not completely feral, he will sit and watch me clean stalls, if i dont get too close. But if i move too close he will jump down into the wall.

My kitty and my fluffy where vaccinated, micro chipped, and nutered/spayed, even had feline lukemia test/shots. So Kitty should be safe, I give him a thing (cant think of the name of it) but you put it in between their shoulders and squeeze it on, it helps keep fleas, ear mites, and worms from infesting them.

You take excellent care of your "kids"!
If you could sit down and just talk softly to him, giving him the chance to approach you, that might speed up the process some.
I have trapped several ferals now and taken them in for fixing, vaccinating and all. Most of them have become very loving. Stranger even makes it hard to feed sometimes because he keeps getting tangled up in my legs!!!
Vaccinations are great, but nothing is 100% Just be safe.

Soooo sorry for your loss.

I am glad Tom Tom (Tommy) can now be a friend for Kitty.

I agree it is best if you can get Tom tamed for shots, etc. Kitty might help by loving on people and letting Tom know you are a good thing. I make a purring sound and make a sheathing movement with my hands and cats seem to feel safe with that...but it takes time and trust to get a cat tamed.

Prayers for comfort.....And prayers for Tom to learn to love ya all too.

Just be careful about visiting the kittens down the way...you might come home with a whole basketful ...I would still consider that possibility too. Let your heart lead you. You know your needs and Kitty's needs better than any of us do.

(((hugs)))
