Willow really needs prayers!! Update

She seemed to do so well on the meds! After we finished them off she slowly started back. The limp that had gone away has returned!!!
Went to the vet this morning. Her temp was 104.2, the new xrays of her lungs show no improvement, possibly a little worse! They are going to do a needle aspiration, suck some of those cells up, and see what we might learn.
I will let you know whatever I find out when she comes home this evening.

Mom was suppose to bring Willow home with her last night. Well, mom gets home, I say "Willow?", she looks at me with wide eyes. She forgot Willow!!!
I dash to the phone, but everyone is gone.
Then we had to rush around, to get to our saddle club meeting. Right after we get home the storm gets here. Power off and on.
Willow is now home. Fever gone, breathing easier, she looks like she feels waaaay better! The asperation wnt well, but I have to wait now for the results! Doc said to call Tues. At least the meds will keep her feeling well, for now. At least I hope that continues!!
Two possibilities being mentioned are fungal infection and cancer. I don't know anything about fungal infections, will be doing some serious research! But it has to be better than cancer!!!
Willow is just such a sweet baby. Her worst habit is getting on your lap and kneading longer than any kitty I have ever known! She's rough on skin!! But she's very laid-back and quiet, never any fuss. Not destructive, demanding, loud, just very sweet.
Well anyway, I guess that's it for now. I'll get on to that research.

Prayers are still coming from me and my brood of 8...I'd look at fungal as more likely than cancer, because cancer doesn't respond to antibiotics...and it seems she did respond from the first round fairly well. So fungal it might be.

Hugs and love...and of course prayers...

Best-
Noni

Sorry I've been so out of touch! This weather is just bumming me out!
I finally got the results of Willow's test yesterday eve. It looks like Histoplasmosis, which is fungal. The medication is more expensive and it can take months to clear up. She said this is very rare and is (suppose) to be from exposure to bird droppings. I have no birds. The neighbors do, but they also have geese. I can't imagine little Willow spending time with big, noisy geese! I will ask if they had seen her hanging around though.
I am to call, the vet, this afternoon to hear what she has found out about the medicine. This is something that they don't carry, and she will call around to pharmacies.
I just want to get started!!
Willow seems to be a tough little thing! She sleeps alot, I like that, but she does get up and around. She wants to go out, which I will let her go on the porch when the temp is nice, it's not horribly humid and not raining. That cuts the opportunities way down!! Keeping her quiet has cut down on the limping.
She still has a tough road ahead, but she will get every chance I can give her!!

I really understand the weather issue...same stuff where we are.

I am glad to know the vet found the cause and that there is a med to help Willow.

Prayers will continue. Let us know, when you find the med, how it works for her.

Histoplasmosis can be picked up from the birds' droppings, she didn't have to "hang" with the birds. Best wishes that little Willow gets better really soon, poor baby.

Here's to a super fast recovery once she gets the right meds! Soon she will be tearing up and having a great time.
