Can you say... here kitty, kitty, kitty

I got this email a few weeks back. Been meaning to post

Quote:
These photos were taken just over the border of NY on the PA side.
Near Elmira NY. Looks like quite a cat. Can you imagine looking out
your window and seeing this guy on your back porch (where the kids play).
These photos were taken last week! So, I guess....like the DEC keeps
saying:
'There are no Mountain Lions around here and there are NO photos!!!!'

...Yup. Sure...

Even scarier is that the cat didn't run away from the person taking it's picture. Instead he hisses at 'em. I wouldn't want to deal with that one! He must be desperate.

Does anyone know if that's normal behavior for a cougar??

Did anyone watch the news last night with Charlie Gibson. He had a segment about a cougar running loose on the streets in Chicago. When the police finally had him cornered in an alley they shot and killed him. They say he charged them. DUH!! Go figure, a cornered wild cat charging. This one was over 5' long and about 150 lbs.

I saw them coming out of Colorado. There was a story in the Chicago Tribune about one being killed there. Mountain lions are all over. Sheri came face to face with one at a barn we use to lease. The game and parks told us it was an over grown barn cat. This one was female and she had babies. At times at night you could see 4 tails walking through the tall grass.

We also got in foal in to take care of that had been attacked by one. This foal was pastured 45 minutes away.

The Florida Panther resembles the mountain lion. We have them here where I live. Not many as they are on the endangered list. They are starting to migrate into more populated areas kiling livestock (goats, chickens, foals, etc). A person I work with had one come up on his back porch, thru the screen and take his pet cat who was sleeping on the back porch. He saw the whole thing and it was very devistating. I could only imagine.

Growth/Building is taking these beautiful creatures into areas of population for food. They are only wanting to survive too.

Snopes won't let me copy and paste guess they don't want to be quoted out of context. So..... paper and pen in hand I copied this.

Quote:
We spoke with Dave Hamilton of the Missouri Department of conversation's Mountain Lion Reserve Team who has been tracking these pictures, and he informed us that they were actually taken back around 2001 or 2002 by Dr. Dave Roger's at his home in Lander, Wyoming (with the details about the big cat's watching his little kids on the kitchen floor" being a bit of a fictitious sensationalism added by unknown hands).
I'm sure I don't want anything large and wild staring me through the door. I freaked when a huge rat was looking at me through my in-laws patio door.

Here is another pic from another email. Claims are this is a bear shot near my home. My husband claims it's the same bear that crossed his path when he stopped to check his load. (He was hauling hay) He said he couldn't get back in the truck fast enough. Darn and to think I decided to stay home on that run.

Well I guess you'll have to wait for the bear pic seams photobucket is undergoing some changes and I can't download.
