If only I'd had a camera!

Our Sneaky cat had me laughing so hard last night!

To set the stage, here are the players. Sneaky and Fluppy (best buds, as you can see):

And the amazing annoying Weinerhuahua, Buster:

(Boy, I really need to get new pictures uploaded to the Bucket!)

Now, Buster lived with us for almost a year, and just recently went back to live with my sister. Yesterday, he came over for a visit. Buster is a very hyper, busy, playful little fellow and he was trying to get Fluppy to play with him as we walked out to do chores. He was running around her, barking, growling, snapping and just generally making a nuisance of himself when out of the blue, Sneaky barreled in to save his buddy! Mind you, Sneaky outweighs Buster by about three pounds.

He jumped on Buster, wrapped his legs around him, and rolled him across the driveway, biting and clawing. Poor Buster was ki-yi-yi-ing the whole time and I was laughing so hard I was absolutely no help whatsoever. Besides, Sneaky has claws and fangs and I wasn't about to stick my hand in there! He finally let Buster up and then chased him around for another five minutes just to be sure he put the fear of Sneaky into him but good.

I knew Sneaky loves Fluppy, but I had no idea he'd defend her from a perceived attack! She seemed quite pleased with him.

Isn't that just the most wonderful thing about our animals, how loyal they are!?! Schoenie used to protect Lassie from two younger hyper dogs we fostered for awhile. And he'd wait for her to catch up when we'd go for a walk. Oh and I'll NEVER forget DME's story of how one of her mares protected her daughter who crawled out into the pasture. So I'm not surprised but it is fun to "see" it! I'm sure you gave Squeaky a treat for that, huh? I think Fluppy deserves one too, just for being

Sneaky was a bit too riled up to approach with a treat, or anything else but a white flag.

He's a pretty great cat, really. He was originally a unwanted gift to my mother-in-law. Bless her heart, she stuck it out with him for about three years, as he was a vicious housecat. He was bored, I think, and therefore got mean - he'd run by, claw and bite you to ribbons, and be gone before you even started to bleed.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and my BIL said he would take him. He lasted three days in the house there before they tossed him outside to fend for himself (literally, no cat food, nuttin). Poor Sneaky got really skinny before he figured out how to hunt. Eventually, they were going to shoot him because he was annoying, so I said I would take him.

He's an excellent outdoor cat, and is fine indoors for very short periods of time. He just adores our family, and our youngest son in particular. He found his niche.

That's why I have pets - even on the worst day, at least someone can make me smile and laugh!

Val, poor Molly Mouse wouldn't stand a chance!

Doxiehuahua just doesn't have the same ring to it. We're not really sure what else is in there besides Chihuahua, actually, but a couple of vets have said Dachshund so we settled for Weinerhuahua.

That's a great story. Camera probably wouldn't have done any good, anyway. Sounds like the pictures would have come out just as a furry blur! Cute!
