How old does a kitten have to be to get neutered?

Contact your vet. I have heard of them doing it as early as 8 weeks, but it alot depends on the health/weight of the animal since it is going under anesthesia.

I usually have mine neutered between four and six months.

Ditto crittermom. They need to be at least 2 pounds to handle going under anesthesia.

Oh, don't feel funny. I've done that SO many time

Our freinds still can't figure out the rabbits
They keep seperating the females and males and ending up with more babies!
You think being in 4-H someone could teach them!

That's how Bubba Joe became Bubba Jolene----and it was my vet that got that one wrong. So......don't be embarrassed.

I have seem them done as early as 6 weeks. In CA they do not let cats get adopted until they are fixed so they do them their rather early to get the kitten to a new home.
