Kitty pictures - BLUE ROAN CAT!!

Here are some pictures of our new barn kitties! We got the first 2 (spike and lazer) for free from a weird lady who got them from her barn but didnt really want to keep them, and the other 3 from a lady who had strays move in with her and then have babies (she had like 13 babies total - my hubby called and told me he had taken all of them!). Anyway, I am making appointments for spays and neuters and vaccines. Even though they are barn cats I like to keep them up to date! The dogs were not so sure what to do with them at first, but now love them. Shadow follows Sadie (the aussie Mix) everywhere! Ok enough talk - here's what I know you all want to see!

Our freak of nature and the biggest kitty - Spike-
Notice his weird eye - they say its just cause his third eyelid didnt open all the way - it doesnt seem to bother him! I think he definatly is a little inbred...

Have you ever seen a blue roan cat!!
Shadow - (I think she's a girl)

Oscar - i think the other girl - named b/c she is always smells like a trashcan!

Smokey - hubby's favorite - and the least social

Lazer - brother to spike - they looked identical when we got them

Well hope you all enjoy the pics!!

My boss' wife had a kitten named Pepper that looked a lot like your Spike with the roan look. As Pepper grew older he turned pure black.

Today you can't tell he ever a hint of white on him! It'll be interesting to see if Spike stays like that or changes too!

Cool! I think he is going to grow out of it! I didn't realize there were others like him, I thought he was just a freak of nature! Although a very cute and sweet one!

Cute Kittens.

I just got a new one...His name is Black Kat.

I guess thats what you get when you tell a five year old he name the kitten whatever he wants to...

Do you think Smokey is going to stay that color?

Our siamese was born white, then turned almost black, then turned about Smokey's color, and now she is typical siamese (cream with dark points).

I was AMAZED!

Precious little group you have there. Now remember, the HT name for barn cats are Vermon Eradicators. (I believe the name came from Version 1955)

Are they adorable - neat coloring.. I wonder if that color will stay as that cat grows up..

I think spike will turn all black eventually, and I think smokey will stay grey, but I could be wrong. It is so fun when they do change!

Awww! You can just ship Shadow and Smokey on down here with me and I'll take care of the spaying and neutering.

I had a boyfriend called Spike and he wasn't as handsome. What a pretty kitty.

They are all lucky to have found you.

That first one is a black cat with a fever coat. Fever coats can come from mom having a fever when she gave birth to the kittens, stress, vaccines, changes in the environment, illness, etc. Very common on black cats but can happen with any color cat. The coat will eventually shed and the true black color will come in.
