Newest additions at the G Bar M...

We have a strange neighbor (well, actually a couple of them ), who was hunting for her female cat a few weeks ago - and mentioned that she had some double pawed, or Hemmingway kittens.. I told her I would love to have some to add to our barn cat collection.. Well, last weekend, when we returned from dropping off TJ and Jackie at the breeders, there is this strange person in the driveway, sitting on the hood of her car, the back seat full of kittens... Needless to say, two ended up with us - a male with 7 toes and a female with 6 - so meet Mork and Mindy.. They are so sweet; the only problem I have is they follow me everywhere, and I am afraid the horses will step on them...

Mork - big, brave and into everything:

Mindy - petite, sweet, with extra feet:

I don't think that show was as long ago as you think. I remember it and I'm under 30. Also those look like good mousers but watch out for them in the field, I had a cat scratch a horses leg while I was treating a scrape on his leg and I ended up getting kicked.

I am so glad that so many of you remember the names - I used to love that show, and these two fit those characters personality wise to a tee...

(And yes, I am old )

Real cuties for sure! A friend of mine gave me two kittens once with the extra toes and when they have kittens they have the ones with no tails. Maybe you will get some of those little cuties out of yours too.

Is it good to have extra toes? Is there an actual breed that has extra toes? And call me young but what show are you talking about?

You are young It was a show with Robin Williams as a goofy comedic alien from outer space... Mindy was the lady who found him and let him live at her place.. Very very funny!!

These cats are not an actual breed - it is in reality a genetic defect - just as bob tails are (they are a mild form of spina bifida, according to my friend, the small animal vet ) - but apparently it is a dominent gene, because they will usually breed a high percentage of double pawed kittens...
