Purrfect babysitter

The other day I put Joey, my 3 month old daughter, into her bouncy seat while I did some dishes. She was just hanging out, trying to figure out how to suck her thumb, or whatever 3 month old babies do in their spare time... I was doing the dishes and I heard her "talking". She was just making all kinds of sounds and carrying on her own conversation. I peeked at her, and this is what I saw...

It seems as though our cat, Shibby, decided he'd keep her company. Upon a closer look, she had grabbed his fur, and was holding on tight. Shibby didn't care, he thought she was petting him!

When he got down off of the bouncy seat, she had a fist full of his hair.

Later, when she was doing her tummy time, he decided to keep her company again.

I tried to get the picture while his tail was wrapped neatly around her forehead, like a headband, but I missed it!

My son, now 2, did the same thing at 5 months with out cat Charlie. He and Charlie are the same age actually. I had put him in his swing and stuck in his favorite movie while I tried to take a quick shower and when I came out they were swinging away together.

Those pictures are priceless! The baby and cat both look so content. I wish I had a cat like yours. I actually just posted about my little 'princess' of a cat...

How sweet - they are going to have so much fun together as she grows!

I had a kitten who would do that with my first son; I too have some cute pictures of it. Gotta love those friendly cats!

Those pictures are so cute!! You can already tell they are gonna great friends together. My son he is 2 1/2 right now ( oye does time fly) and I have 2 cats, Ferris is 3 and Faye is 1 and he doesnt care for my son, but Faye she adores him!! They play together all day long, You know thos tabs that come off a milk cont., well my son will put it on the coffe table and Faye will knock it with her paw and then fly with it in the kitchen, and then he runs after her and puts the tab back on the table, and they do this for hrs. Its real cute, take lots of picture, cause like I said time does go by real quick

Adorable pics, and kinda off topic a little, I have read some reasurring things about families that allow cats and other animals around their children, their kids have actually fewer allergies and build up good immunities, which is just what I like to hear as a lifelong pet owner and mother of 4 animal lovers, and I must say allergy free and very healthy country kids

I do not have any children...well without fur that is!
But I think every child should grow up with a pet.
Great pictures!
I know you probably couldnt stop smiling watching them!

Aww...

I love big black cats. Shibby's such a sweet guy, too, and so handsome. He's so cute snuggling up to that baby, and he looks to be enjoying the company as well. Every time I see everyone's pictures of their sweet black cats it makes me want to go out and adopt another one.
