Meet Johnny and June, the latest rescues!

Driving down the road last night, coming back from taking care of the horses-we saw these two little babies in the middle of the road. There is only one house on this road. It's an older gentleman, and the only animals he has are horses. We asked him to make sure they weren't his. They were catching June bugs under the light. (hence the name, June...Johnny just came with it.) They are so, so skinny.

I'm not an indoor cat person, at all. I like cats, just not in the house. BUT, I couldn't turn my back on these two little ones. So, I was at Wal-Mart last night buying litter, a box, toys and kitten food. Poor things were so hungry, it breaks my heart to see an animal hungry as they were.

And not to worry, they will see the vet, but not until next week as my vet is on vacation. I will not to use anyone but him, unless I absoultely, positively have to.

Anyway, I have a couple pics. Sorry about the quality, my camera does not take good indoor pictures.

aww they are cute. When I saw the names I was thinking you named them after Johnny Cash and his wife June lol but then I read the part of how June got her name

Thanks! No, you're right.

The June bugs are what made me think of those names..but we are big Johnny Cash people. Since it was a boy and girl, it just seemed right!

Thanks guys! If my kids learn nothing else from me, they will at least know to be kind and compassionate to animals! Lord knows we have enough of them!

tally, you may rethink that after a few days with them.

(I'm completely kidding, they are wonderful little humans, they amaze me every day!

) Can you tell which one takes after her daddy the most...I mean looks the most onery?

Cute kittys and kids. The kittys obviously have had human contact to let you just pick them up and take them home. I wonder if they were dumped. Thanks for taking them in.

I was just talking to brad last night about letting Caley get a kitty... But I'm like you, the strays seem to be magnetically pulled toward me so we will wait for the next little one that no one seems to want, that gets dumped in the "country" *sigh*

merleliz, The calico is June and the tabby is Johnny. And you are right on about the blonde taking after daddy!

BabyMay, they were really leary of me when I got out to check them. It took me a while to coax them to me to look at them. I'm sure they've been handled at some point, but they'd not eaten for a while, that's for sure.

Yeah, Cascy, I was certainly not looking for kittens right now! I've got enough on my plate, but sure couldn't leave them there for coyote bait either. They'll fit in in no time, I'm sure just like all the others

!
