Thumbs up interesting color

I was doing some research on Dixie and found a full brother to her sire

First Deposit he was never shown cause he was stepped on by his dam when he was a few weeks old.

So in my search I found his full brother and he is very interesting color wise

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/chex+nu+jewel

check out his pic he is palomino? or buckskin?

he has the black mane and foretop but palomino tail..

I just thought it was cool and would share..

so what color would he be??

His dam is a chestnut and his sire is a palomino, so there is no way he could be a buckskin - and from looking at his photo he is definitely a palomino, but that is one DARK mane!

Wow that is very interesting. I used to show my neighbor's pally that had a salt and pepper mixture, especially in her tail, but never seen one with that big of a difference. Looks like two ends of different horses got spliced together!

Dixie has alot of the salt/pepper mix in her tail w/some red hair makes it look dirty alot of the time but just the way it is..

My friends has a palomino that looks like that except her tail has a few black hairs She has four socks though. Alot of people stop on the road just to talk about her! She has almost caused car crashes

I just watched this reining stallion last weekend, and he looked similar, except his body was lighter, and there wasn't as much contrast between the mane & tail as the one you posted http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/shiners+q+chex and here are lots of pics http://www.waltenberry.com/thumbslis...gid=23&hid=112

I'd never seen that before, and thought it was neat that his mane was a ALL dark grey, not light and dark hairs mixed. When he was reining, it loked like a dark cloud

He looks like a silver grullo. My friend has one like that, but with a light mane and dark tail.

He is stunning though!

That horse is built alot like Dixie. So I can only assume Dixies sire would have been one heck of a show horse if he had not been stepped on as a foal.

being her sire is a full brother to this one I bet there are built alike.

I wish I could find more info on Dixies sire

Gorgeous! He is a Palomino though for sure. His genetics say so, he couldnt be otherwise. Very neat coloring aint it! Ive never seen one with so much contrast like that.
