Lightbulb clear fluid coming from teats

Ok lets make it clear I have called the vet waiting to hear back from her.

Chic our 3 year old is leaking CLEAR fluid in her teats they are bigger than normal a few months ago I cleaned her belly(she had a bug bite) and noticed how tucked up and small they were and just about a week ago noticed they were bigger.

so my question is could she be in foal?

I have no idea if she was pastured w/stud colts before we got her I thought I seen her in heat once or twice since we've had her could have been or not.

we got her in end of febuary.

her belly does bulge alittle nothing that would make me think she's in foal.

and if by some chance Amadeus got her it would be way too soon to be bagging up.

or is this normal for some mares??

I know of a mare that Cariboo has and she does that near heat cycles. That is the first one I have herd of.... Sorry I am of no other help.... I hope at her age she would not have been bred, but that is me.

We have several mares that do that. Especially if they are on a green grassy pasture.

Vet called back she said she'll be here around 12:30-1pm

she is on alot of grass so hopefully thats what it is.

I always seperate Amadeus and Dodger from the girls when they are in heat.

Lou said maybe that Donkey got her from out side the fence But I don't think he could have god I hope not could you imagine

But,I will let you all know what the vet says..

It's possible my uncle had a jack that would constently try breeding mares through the fence my uncle too thought it would be impossible...that was until 3 mares turned up pregnant and the only stud on property was the jack.

Yep, if there is a jack on the other side of the fence, it is possible. Sweet Pea got pregnant with a four board fence between her and the stud (she escaped her own stall to go visiting one night).

Oh dear. I certainly hope she is not in foal. My mare, Dixie, is in foal and has a small bag that I can express clear fluids from. She is almost 7 months along now and is a maiden mare. My vet didnt seem concerned about her having the bag and even said it was normal. But of course I wanted my mare in foal and I doubt you want yours!

She said some mares bag alittle just before or during heat cycles and she is about 2-3 days from being in heat...

So I can sleep tonight and not have to worrie if chic was gonna have a mule foal..

Oh no it's good trust me.

I would never breed a two year old horse and have them foal out at 3.

Chic is not mentally ready to be a mama either..

and if I ever did breed her it would'nt be to a donk

if she don't sell Lou might breed her in the future when he has more time for her/foal

he was considering leasing her out to friends of ours that owns NU Peppy Chex in Nebraska and they just send her back in foal to Peppy that is Woolys sire.time will tell but he really wants to sell her..
