The number of times you have to AI the mare really depends on a few things.
1.How good is your vet at knowing when she is ready 2.How Furtile is the stallion when shipped 3.And or course your mares ability to concieve The first two are the biggest factors. We went through a lot of vets not having a clue this breeding season so had to ship to a couple mares twice. But with each shipment they would have been able to inseminate 2-3 times as our stallions counts stayed high. This was even with his "stuff" being shipped from Michigan to Washington state. The person collecting and processing the "shipment" on the stallion end plays a factor as well.
