Ohhh... I understand. Just thought I'd suggest it - but I can see your point. I'm sure you're right, though. They probably already know the answer, but are being hedgy about it. Too bad neither these owners nor the original breeder considered HYPP in the first place!

Sad that they are breeding him to produce more hypp horses money is more important then the health stat passed on.

you do realize that they are talking about Mr. I'm Black right? and you put his sire's(Sierra's Black Gold) picture up on all breed instead of his.

Well, GOOD for you ! My guess is the filly is afflicted and they're hoping to unload her, and as such, her future is not very promising. It's folks like you and me and anybody else who says a loud "NO!" that can help force a change in thinking and breeding direction. If there was no market for these horses, there would be none produced. Money talks. That's how it would be in my perfect world anyway . Are we years, maybe light years , away from that being reality? Yeah, but each step forward instead of backward or even jogging in place with the status quo, is a step in the right direction, right?! Heck, yeah!!

Oh, by the way...welcome to the forum .

I don't know much about genetics and breeding, in fact i know very little, but I am completely taken a back by the fact that they have so many N/H stallions they are breeding Beautiful horses but come on here!!! I guess I just don't understand some people and their way of thinking. I think you are definately smart to pass on that filly.

That's because, unfortunately, they win in the ring. Makes me want to give every judge consistently pinning them a sharp kick in the shin...both shins...til they're hopping about in pain . So who's the biggest loser here? The poor filly who had no say about the circumstances and choices that brought her into this world. That makes me sick... . How come they just don't care about her and soooo many others . Stupid boneheads... .

Yes, unfortunately yall are right they just don’t care. They are hoping that someone that dose not know will come along and buy her, and someone probably will. They also have a few other colts by this stallion that they are selling cheap.

So sad that some people care more about their pockets than these beautiful creatures. I wish more people would see this problem and want to take care of it. And I too feel horrible for that filly and every other horse in these types of situations. It's such a sad situation all the way around!!

What a small world. I am pretty good friends with the couple that own that stallion or well moreso with Lisa. She's a nice woman, but I dont entirely agree with her on the N/H thing but who am I to say. But that is her stud. Ive only met him once, briefly, and he sure was nice. Killer though that he should be N/H.
