Quick Colostrum Question--another question about foaling 5/8

I am curious on opinons on changes in the colostrum/milk in the mare just before foaling. My mare has gone from clear, watery to clear sticky tonite. In her past foals I watched color but never cosidered the consitancy of it. She never goes darker or white before foaling, it is always clear. So once it goes sticky how long does a mare usually go?

Most but not all will foal 24-48 hrs once it turns sticky like glue. But there are always exceptions to the rule. My mare on cam has now been waxing for 8 days and has clear sticky "milk" ughhh.

Yup.. Prissy never waxes up until an hour or so before hand.. and Hannah didn't wax up or have sticky milk in the morning - but she foaled that afternoon..

Mares.. Gotta love em though..

I am about to go nuts waiting. I went to do her morining check and it looks like she is changing colors this year. It was not crystal clear anymore, it had kind of an yellowish hue to it and she has wax.

yellow is a good sign!! some will turn white which normally means the foal will be here any minute. here is a really good site with pictures of mare milk turning colors

She probably won't foal until you leave to go to the bathroom or something. When it changes color and is sticky it's should come pretty soon. My mare this year had the change and had the foal that night.

That is what she did to me on the last foal. She waited til I left to go in the house and had had him and she was standing by the time I got back (total time gone: 15 min)

I just checked on Rain (wouldn't normally check her at this time because her bag had gone down today but my son was up puking so I thought what the heck) She has a hard, hot bag and will not let me touch her rear end, which is unusul for her I can usually touch her anywhere I want, even 'open' her up to look with no problem. The colostrum is light yellow and 'dries' almost instantly into a sticky mess. Small amount of wax on one teat. How much longer?? I am so
