Info on AQHA look-ups

Hey everyone,

I just received a PM from a member that stated:

Quote:
There are a lot of people asking for AQHA look-up that I dont think they know that it costs.

All AQHA members get 10.00 each month, and it does not roll over.
You have to pay for things on there...

APHA is free.
I'm not saying that it's not okay to ask for look-ups. It's totally fine. Just keep in mind that people may not be able to help. I don't know the specifics of how much it costs to get the information, but if anyone needs help from an AQHA member, you can certainly take it to PM or email to work something out that is acceptable to all parties involved.

Does that make sense?

Current AQHA members get $10 worth of basically Free lookups every month, if you go over the $10 worth of info you have to pay. If you dont use it you just lose it. Show records, sire/dam records, ownership records, etc .. all vary on what they cost to lookup.

Sounds good, Oh Mighty One. Perhaps, if someone is interested in an AQHA look up - they could post a thread requesting an AQHA member to PM them if they still have money in the account. I know I don't use mine much, but I like to wait until the end of the month, just in case!

Most of us that are using it don't mind - but it does help explain sometimes when someone asks why it may take a while to pull up the information.

I think the APHA has it right - no charge for any of it

< note from Annie: some earlier comments in the thread that Toveromom is referring to have been removed>

Nope.I can guarantee it is not directed at one person.
This place runs well because the webmaster and mods are truely interested in keeping things running well-and smoothly.
It read like a simple informational post for folks who just do not realize that the AQHA look ups cost from 3 to 15 bux and that they are not free.
There is no harm in that at all.
See?you said yourself you had no idea it cost-to begin with.
Now folks know.
Thanks Annie

I am going to lock this thread and leave it for now as an educational post. I am sure that many did not realize that the AQHA does charge between $3.00 and $15.00 per research request. A big thank you to all of you who have helped each other out - that is what makes HT so special!
