It's a Bouncy Black Baby Boy!

Meet Sequel, our very first Le Cheval Canadien foal! Neil and I were so lucky to be there, Delphine had him at 11:45am on Monday June 5! Here are pictures of the birth, and his first couple hours of life in the Big World...

Holy Moly! What a moose! He is incredible! I am in love...*swoon*

Will he keep that gorgeous black?

Congratulations! He is amazing. Now this is one horse I want to follow as he grows up!

What are your plans for him?

Oh come on! Where is the photo with you and baby lying down together? That one is way to cute!

So what is his full registered name going to end up as? Aren't they three names long or something silly?

He is perfect...I am so glad it worked out for you and that she waited until you were moved and settled!

I know, he really is a big boy! Poor Delphine was tired out from just trying to pass his head - we had to help a bit but once his head came out it just took a moment for his arrival.
Delphine was so tired she just rested for quite awhile, and we were the first 'mom & dad' that Sequel saw...you could see that he was bonding to us instead of mom so we backed off out of his sight to give mom & baby a chance to bond.
We are definately a part of Sequel's family though - he comes right up to us and if you sit by him he will lay his head on you (You can just see Neil's heart melt in the pictures!).
Yep he will stay black - I am hoping he is blue black and not going to bleach out.
Still working on his full name - just have to come up with a farm name, which is the first name. Second is the Stud's name, third is the personal name. Thinking about either Ghostrider Colbert Sequel or Shambala Colbert Sequel...

And I did give Neil his chance to name him 'Shatner' but I guess he changed his mind... phew...

Ghostriders is the name of the racing barn we got Ziggy and Jerry from...I like that name, but I like Shambala too.

I am relieved he is not a Shatner!
