Queenie foaled a BIG, beautiful chestnut colt early this morning, delivery was complete by 12:20. He was up by 12:45. He needed quite a bit of help to get those shoulders clear so I'm truly glad we were closely watching! We had a moment of panic when he slid free and wasn't breathing, but a good brisk rub had that taken care of. I'll post some pictures when it gets light, but in the meantime...welcome to the world, Big Guy!

Okay, I've gotten a couple of good ones this morning. Then my battery died, but rest assured, there will be some up and at 'em pictures later. This little guy is way full of himself...running around mama at only 6 hours old! A better picture will also be forthcoming so you all can help me with his color! He was definitely red when he was all wet and in the light of the flashlight, but now he's looking....PALOMINO. Either that, or he's gonna' be a really light red!

Here's your first fix of the day. Poor Queenie hasn't been able to lay down for about the last 2 weeks....

He's a beauty. At a guess, a Palomino or maybe a light Red Dun? Hard to tell right now and then when he sheds out that baby hair, he may be a whole other color
