Standardbred Papers?

I'm not sure if this belongs in here, so if it doesn't I'm sorry...I think it does though...lol, anyways...

Does anyone know where I could get papers/the pedigree of my horse Rex? He's an ex-racer, Standardbred. We got him from a vet, but we didn't get his papers or anything...Long Story...I would explain but I don't think it would help any. But, I think Rex may be "written off as" deceased , I'm not sure though.

I've looked around but can't find anything, when I look on google and what not I don't get anything thats even near to what I'm looking for. His registered name is X-Rated (this is why I have trouble on google and stuff, can ya guess why .) I don't really need his papers, I just want to know his pedigree, I love knowing what kind of lines my horses have.

So if anyone has any ideas or places I could try looking, that would be awesome. Thanks everyone.

The only X-rated I could find was an Appy! Try contacting the Alberta Standardbred Association:

http://www.asha.ab.ca/

They are nice people and should be able to point you in the right direction.

Racing Standardbreds are branded witha number on their neck. If you can get that number, you can contact the Standardbred Racing association and get his race record and pedigree...

I do know that AQHA declares a horse over the age of 23 deceased, I don't know about Standardbreds though.

Hmm, I thought it was 25 for AQHA. Either way, my poor Jeb is considered deceased, even though he isn't!

Anyway, I think your best best would be to contact the association EA posted a link to....unless he came from the states?

Thanks EquineAlberta and Rocking Horse,

Rex does have a number on his neck so I think I will call the Alberta Standardbred Association and ask them about his pedigree and what not . Oh, and Rex is only 8 yrs old this year lol so I hope they don't have him as retired lol. At that age they're still "babies", sorta .

I'm pretty sure he was born right here in Alberta...so I think he's Canadian unless his parents were bred in the States and that makes everything change hope that makes sense lol .

Here is the link for Pathways. I found a standardbred there earlier this year.
