We will be ultra-sounding for a for sure confermation of GiGi being in foal next Friday. Oct. 8th. I am hoping to have fetal sexing done too but we will see what position the foal is in. If she is bred she would be due the first part of May.

She is a palamino snow-cap appy mare bred to an Amber Champagne Appaloosa blaneted stallion.

Well I personally am not expecting a foal, but there is a mare at the farm that I suspect is bred, and this morning the barn owner announced his suspicions as well. I thought it was pretty cool that I figured it out on my own, if it is indeed true. The mare is a black and white overo paint, and the suspected sire is a sneaky Arab There were two stud colts that escaped a few times, both Arabs; pretty much both chestnuts (you might debate bay or chestnut) with a few white marks, and with the mare not being homozygous (at least I doubt she is), I have no idea what the baby will look like.

But the reason I am posting it here is because the barn owner said, right on the heels of telling me he thought the mare was bred, that the baby was mine if I wanted it. We all know there's no such thing as a free horse, but I couldn't bear to think of a baby I'd get to know being sent to the sales.

So if she keeps looking babybelly'd I'll keep track of her progress and let you know!

And yes, I will have the vet check her if I can and give her what she needs to be a good momma.

I cannot believe I don't have anything else to show you, but this is the mare's belly in question. I'll get better ones Sunday.

No babies for me, two of us, two horses, and we can only ride one at a time...but I am looking forward to vicariously enjoying all of yours!

We are expecting two next year. Both by my ApHC stallion "The Last Finale W" http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/the+last+finale+w He is Ee, Aa, and not homozygeous for Appaloosa characteristics either. (haven't had him genetically tested, but know he isn't EE as the filly last year was chestnut, and know he isn't AA as he has thrown true black before), and he has thrown non-characteristic as well.

The first mare is 19 this year, it will be her first baby she is due Jan/Feb. She is a 14.2 hand AQHA mare "Naughty Nightshade" http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/naughty+nightshade She is bay, but we are not sure what her genes are either, but going off her parents I say she is Ee (her mother was sorrel), Aa. So we have put in an order for a black filly with lots of spots.

The second mare is 16 this year, it will be her 9th baby, but first since we bought her, she is due in April. She is also a 14.2 hand AQHA mare "Pal of Susan" http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/pal+of+susan, not sure of her genes either, but seems to be ee, aa, Crcr. We have put in the request for hers to be a dark buckskin, with high black, and lots of spots, also filly. She has only been bred to a bay once before and threw a buckskin. She has been bred to just about every color, and has thrown most colors
Bred To Produced
Red Roan Red Roan
Dun Dun
Red Roan Palomino
Palomino Palomino
Palomino Chestnut
Bay Buckskin
Gray Palomino
Buckskin Chestnut

no 'planned' pregnancies. however i'm beginning to wonder if Bo was sneaky yet again.

the place i was boarding at beginning of this year didn't care that the fences were horrible. so Bo was caught out there a few times. at my new place he is 2 pastures apart from any mares to his dislike. pastures are fairly lush compared to what she was on, so hoping it is just a 'fat' belly and not a 'pregnant' belly.

I'm expecting one in may 2010, my mare tivio sereneder:
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/tivio+serenader
bred to SBR Formula One
http://www.sbrformulaone.com/
needless to say, I'm VERY excited!!!! my mare is heading into her 5th month and I'm getting ready to set up my vet to check her over to make sure everything is on track. I had another mare that just would not settle this year, and I do believe this will probably be my last time breeding.....at least for awhile.

We have one TWHBEA registered mare direct by Gen's Major General bred to a direct son of Coin's Hard Cash due May 12th, 2010. She is black with a white upper lip and a white near hind fetlock and the stallion she's bred to is solid black, so I'm hoping for another beautiful black baby. I know that it will either be black or chestnut because she is heterozygous for the black gene, but I don't know about the stallion. I can't wait to see what she'll be having.

We are very excited, pleased and proud to announce that we have two haflingers expected here next July. Elena should be foaling around the 4th, and Fancy a week later, both of course Alto babies.
