This Bubble has gotta pop!*He's Here!*

Here is our girl Bubbles that is due in just a few short weeks, if she can hold it that long. I was shocked today by how much more drawn down she is by this foal just from last weekend. Her tail head is drooping bad and her belly is hanging so far her ribs are showing. I can not wait till she has this foal so she can get back to looking like the big, robust girl she is.

ETA: Here she is last August-

Yep, I'd say miserable pretty much sums up how she feels. She will not be being bred back this year, we know of at least 5 foals in a row she's had.

Okay, so I just did the foaling calculator and turns out her early due date was 3-23, average is 4-02 and full term would be 4-12. I think being sick for the last week has dampened my brain cells, I did not think she was due this soon!

well here's hoping she has it soon. poor thing. I think it is wonderful that you are going to give her a year off. I would think that being pregnant all but a few weeks a year for 5years would be tiring and stressful. Good for you.

And that's only what we know of, she could have been bred for more years than that. She definately has the broodmare belly and I think it is more than time for her to just be herself instead of a baby machine.

Even after having 2 kids I still can't know exactly what she's going thru. Both my sons were premature and only 4 lbs.

We got Bubbles moved home from my parents' house last night. Now all I have to do is look out the window to check on her.

Still does not have a bag but her vulva is slightly elongated and her tail head is extremely squishy and drawn down.

Here's to praying for a foal...soon! That poor girl!

You're right, she sure does deserve to be herself from here on out, with that history. Are you going to retire her for good?

So far I don't think she knows she's due on the 2nd. I kinda wonder if she isn't so big just because she has had so many in a row that her belly is just kinda stretched out.

As long as we own her I don't think she will be bred again, but we may get down to just our 2 riding geldings. I plan on calling her old owner sometime soon and see if she ever was started herself. Doc is such a calm, gentle soul and it's obvious he gets it from momma. She is very easy to get along with, and has awesome ground manners. I wonder if she would like to be a trail horse?

Okay so hubby thinks I'm nuts but I swear her belly is no longer hanging so low. Which makes me think the baby has turned and gotten into position. Still no milk and not very elongated yet.

That she is. As of today she is still large and in charge with no evidence of a foal any time soon.
