Stalls are done! (*pics*)

We bought a former llama farm ~4 years ago and have been slowly converting it to a horse farm. We didn't have usable stalls before--the barn was more of a run in for the horses. After having a horse on stall rest most of the summer (and having to drive out to the trainer's to see him because I had no stalls ) we finally built ones. They ended up being about 10x11, but one stall has a nice big window, and the other an in/out door to a little personal paddock. I am so tired, but happy!

I think it would've been a lot easier to build from scratch then to try and cram them in the existing space--but you do what you got to do, you know? I am pretty seriously proud of my new found circular saw skills--and pretty happy with my spouse about now I took some pictures tonight--hope they post right:

This is both stalls-- our gelding's is on the left. It butts up against our hay loft/storage. In front of it there is still enough room for a run in for the horses. Hopefully you can see the in/out door on the left of the stall (have I told you what a lousy photographer I am?

Picture of my mare's stall with the window

There's a big barred window between the two stalls, and our accident prone gelding gets the stall with the little private paddock:

Wow! Very nice!! You did a great job of "cramming"!!! Are there pictures of the outside? Pics of the entire structure? I dont know what a llama barn looks like. And by the way, your photography skills are way better than mine!

You guys are too nice--thanks!

My pics are enormous--I have to learn how to resize before I post! Doing this project on a budget made it more challenging--I bought used stall fronts from our trainer and then we bought lumber to assemble the rest. Way cheaper than pre-fab stalls, but man, what a ton of work. The floor was a whole day--hauling in sand/dirt, packing it, making it level, then cutting stall mats to size. Exhausting--but rewarding!

(oops--just realized I meant to sweep the cobwebs down before I posted--with these pics they look blanket sized!)

Eek--I've been afraid to add it up, but here goes:

2 used fronts - $350
Lumber for both - ~$650
Sand/Dirt - ~$150
10 Stall mats - ~$400
Misc. - ~$100
_____
~$1650 for both - Mastercard is going to be ugly next month!
