I really shouldn't tease you but....(pics added)

I really shouldn't tease you but I can't wait to tell. I'm getting my carport/barn today. I've been planning on graph paper for the past two months how I wanted to design it and how big I wanted it. I finally got hubby to order it and it arrives this afternoon.

I bought a carport 3 years ago to turn into a horse barn then it ended up housing goats instead. So I whined until I got my way and now I'm getting an even bigger one. How did I manage that.... I told him think of the storage room he'd have when I give up my dream.

The carport/barn is going to house my dogs, chickens, rabbits, barn cats, and miniature horses. We're going to attach it to the old carport/barn so that it will be easier to do chores making the barn over 60 feet long.

I've even managed to find room for the utility vehicle so that it's not in the main isle. (hubby insist I store it in the barn. ) In doing so I have found space for my 2 wheel buggy.

I can't wait to get started on making the stalls. I found hinges on sale. That's a good start right!

Nothing fancy about this barn but it will be a warm place the animals can call home.

Great! LOL......isn't it funny how 'critter folks" can get excited over stuff like that, and other people are drooling over a new car or a hot tub or fancy clothes!

Ohhh! Congratulations! I wanna see pictures!
When we move we were debating on using a carport for a temporary barn. I'm very interested to see what you picked and how it works out.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who sees a carport and thinks barn.

Here are the long awaited pics. Sorry for the delay, we're doing hay ...again. I can't complain the animals need to eat come winter.

First up is the frame

Then the roof

and the trim

You will notice a gap between the barns. We plan to fill that in later.

One stall is almost complete. This one we made in the old barn. A new stall for the goats.

looks like they approve.
I couldn't believe it took them just two and a half hours to complete.

And for fun....we saw a hot air ballon coming down

so we went on a chase

Thanks for the pictures! It looks great, you must be sooo happy. I figure a nice quality carport would be just fine for the horses. It's definitely a great idea, and it has several uses after the animals are done with it.

And how cool about the hot air balloon! That's really neat. I've never seen one down here.

That is awesome, where did you order it from? We have Miniatures, and I would love to have a barn just for them and the tractor's/quad's.. that would be perfect...I wonder if they ship to Canada or have a dealer up there that we can pick one up at??
