Water, water, everywhere!

Anybody else having this problem?

Yup, that's the lane, and the brand new bridge we put in last summer. Sad part is, this is soooooo much better than it used to be!

Yep, same problem!

It dumped a lot of rain in very little time today.

Just think, the ground will be frozen solid shortly.

Then we get all the rain again and the mud...........

Our place goes down to a man-made lake...sometimes the water comes a good 200 feet up from the bank. My fence plan calls for the pasture to extend all the way down to withing 50 feet of the lake.

My horses will probably stand there and slowly back up as the water rises, that's what the neighbor's horse used to do.

water

Oh we call it the rainy season down here. I actually have a different pasture set up for the summer time. Be grateful you don't have our hurricanes. I lost my round pen, and my trailer to hurricane charlie and insurance did not cover it was considered an act of God....

We're pretty soaked right now too. We've had the weirdest rain this fall---all of it seems to blow sideways. I have water coming into my barn because it blows under the ridge vent of the roof and today it rained and the wind blew it into the stalls. I've also lost hay due to the weird rain this year. Never had these issues before---lucky me!

We are not that bad off thank god but we have had a lot of rain! My backyard is a mudhole! Feeding the animals equals mud wrestling! You should have seen me today trying to manuever a wheelborrow through the mud, falling every step or so. Sheeshhhhh...Let it dry up or freeze over or something!

One thing I've noticed and am wondering if anyone else has- The grass is still lush! Last year we were feeding hay in august. This year it's already Novemeber and the grass is still good and green. Maybe the rain can be good if we don't all get washed away.

Yes it's the same here!

I spent all day 30' under the highway in a muddy slimy culvert pipe and got to come home to water pouring in my barn. So I got to dig a nice trench in slimy mud. Moved my pig boys to a dry stall.

ENOUGH MUD ALLREADY!!!!!

The road to my house always floods like that when we get heavy rain, but it usually dries up in a couple of days.

Same here !!!!! I have to use boards so I can clean out the barn. Keep losing my boots in it. The babies are not happy, they hate the mud, but they were out in the rain today, their choice. I got one load of crushed limestone this fall, looks like I will have to get another!

I'm feeling your pain here in the Buckeye state! I awoke this morning to find my pasture a river!
No point in turning the horses out in it!
Are we gonna get snow anytime soon?

We're pretty wet here but fairing better than to the east of us. Next county over is having flooding. And I thought I had a flood at my house. I got back to the house just before it came down in buckets. Wind was howling. Something hit my window hard. I think it was a bird.

I was out with my camera and I never gave it a thought to take a picture of my husbands hard work in progress. I was so pleased he got the run in done as far as he has. The goats looked happy and dry. I can't say the same for their barn yard.

Yep. Except here it's between -5 and +5 and wet snow so it's all slush . I'm not a fan of the cold winter months but this is rediculous. I actuallly want it to freeze.

All this mud is giving me mud fever!!! I still am trying to find out who keeps stealing all the stone I put down every year to keep the mud down? How can stoneduct just dissapear? Like 6 truckloads. Stupid, Stuipd mud. I hate muddy animals too. Nothing like them coming flying up the field as soon as them see me not thinking about how they're going to stop or how much mud they will kick up at me! I might as well roll in it with them!

Yup, and we're in mud-city today.

My gelding field consists of: 2 bays, 2 chestnuts, 2 grays, and 1 loud appaloosa.

Granted, all of them have rugs on, but this morning I went to bring them all in to eat, and every single one of them looked exactly the same! You couldn't tell any of them apart!

All slathered top to toe, including manes and tails.

Too funny.

Haha, I know how you feel. With all the rain we've had lately, this is what we had a couple weeks ago...

We've had to keep several of the horses stalled, otherwise they'll tear up the fields, but there is nothing to do for the pasture-only kept horses. Every single horse comes in with some degree of mud on them.

Dang blasted mud and rain!

About the time it dries up around the barn and water trough we get more rain, our driveway is still muddy. I hate getting on the passenger side of the truck,I usually have mud spattered on my clothes or shoes. At least the field is drier now,and the horses don't have to have blankets on yet. Lows in 40s and highs in 60s for next several days, but it's calling for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday-just what we need-NOT!
