Where to live with horses and jetskis

Our lovely farm is being surrounded by suburbia. We are considering moving further out. My husband is interested in buying a place on a river or big lake that feeds into a river so he can have his jetski dock on our property. I've never lived without horses in my life, so the place will need to have 5 to 10 acres for our 3 horses. My husband hates the cold, so he will not consider anything further north than N. Florida. I would love some input from people who live where land is not terribly expensive and we could find a modest house by the water. Taxes and insurance are also a consideration. We are thinking north central Florida or Alabama. What recommendations do you all have? Knightrider

well, i live about 45 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. It's a big one. lots of boats and jetskis. Only one problem... winters are very cold in these parts. but good luck with your search!

It's not Florida, but check out Corpus Cristi, Tx. Lots of places on canals feeding into Laguna Madre & Corpus Cristi Bay. Real estate cost is reasonable, but I don't know how much acreage would push up the price.

Corpus has been a little depressed economically for a few years, but is still a great town in my opinion. Great weather, fantastic food, lots of outdoor activities, Texas open beaches, and in the same neighborhood as some of the best horses in the world (Kingsville/King Ranch).

I'm in southeastern Virginia---doesn't get too terribly cold in the winter. Still some rural areas and you can't go anywhere without running into water. Not warm like FL, though.

I live in Jersey and we have horses and jet skis

Doubt you would want to move up here though. Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here
