Horse Property in Florida

So the fiancee and I have been discussing moving out of Oklahoma after college/wedding. He wants achange of scenery. The only scenery change I require is a horse of my own.

With his degree, he's got a possibility of working for Lockheed Martin in central Florida. My question for all you Florida-Equestrian-types: How's the horse market down there? Not the actual purchase price, but jsut horse boarding, lessons, feed etc. Mega expensive since I'm sure much of the state is developed and the rest probably isn't "farm land" the way it is here in OK.

What do you guys think???

Where I am (about 45 min for Lockheed/Martin) the boarding is 250-350 for full board, 30-40 for lessons, 35-45 for round bales, 5-6 for squares, 6-7 for pellets. I am sure everything is more as you get closer to Orlando though.
As far as land some people rent out their pastures (they do not have horses) but not sure of price. Can check if you want though? Prices for land are HIGH in the area. I would guess 20,000/acre or more is average.
I love it here though and would not live ANYWHERE else.
When is the anticipated move?

Have you decided what area in Florida?
I am in North FL., and prices vary here according to land size.
Are you looking to get in the city, or more in the country?
It will all depend on where you want to go and if you want land
or board.

I am in N. Central Fl. too, not far from Seloc... Depends on what kind of board you need / want also. Partial board, where you feed, clean etc is pretty cheap around me. About 100 -150 a month depending on if you furnish your own hay/feed or they do, if you want pasture of stalls... Full board can range from 225 to 550 a month... Some have turn out, some not.
Uncleared land is going to be about 20,000 and acre or more depending on how close you are to a "city".
Hey, my place is for sale Comes complete with house DWMH, 5 acres, 1/2 cleared and partilay fenced for horses... I am 5 minutes west of I95

Horse prices here are reasonable, depending on what your looking for...

How did you beat me, Rocking Horse?!?
Mine is for sale too... hint hint..

Okay, full board locally... (very central spine of the state, about 45 minutes south-south-west of Orlando) anywhere from $250-$500, depending on amenities. Pasture is $150+. And no one really does partial around here.

Hay is about the same as Seloc quoted - for Coastal.

Land is up for sale all over Polk County, as it is growing fast here. Mostly oranges and cattle. A good uncleared acre is up to 35,000+. A 1/4 mile up my street, a 1/4 acre is hitting $100,000 in the development. We're so high and dry here that two neighbors have full basements without the need for sump pumps! There is no standing water in our yard anywhere, even immediately after all three hurricanes last year. Not even a puddle. All the folks from the coastal counties have been pouring inward since the hurricanes.
